Adeje

Originally a farming area, traditionally devoted to growing bananas and tomatoes.

In recent times, the coast, known as COSTA ADEJE, has been improved with several different tourist resorts such as San Eugenio, Fañabé, Playas del Duque and El Beril.

Moreover, part of Playa de las Americas falls within the municipal boundaries. The success of the area as a tourist resort is based on a mild climate and the quiet of the coast, with its excellent fishing.

The Barranco del Infierno (Devil's Ravine) is in the borough. This is an impressively narrow ravine with vertical vegetation-covered walls, where the sunlight hardly penetrates to the bottom.

Many Guanche burial caves have been discovered in the walls. The Adeje parish church possesses a fine Mudejar moulded ceiling and an interesting collection of Gobelin tapestries. Surface area 105,94 km2
